How long will it take to dry the resin mixture before you demould it? 

Is it safe to touch the mixture after we pour it into the mould?

It takes anywhere from a couple of minutes to several days to get the mixture completely dry. 

It totally depends on the ratio you use and the environment you choose to work with resin. 

• UV resin that is ideal for pendants and jewelry takes around 3 to 5 minutes to dry on exposure to a UV lamp or direct sunlight.

• Epoxy resin takes around 12 to 24 hours to dry. But it is always safe to demould after 3 days.

• If you are deep casting, it takes almost 4 days to cure completely. 

Deep layers require more time to dry, which is why ‘patience’ is the first step a resin artist should always master.
